WASHBURN CENTER FOR CHILDREN
Previously housed in a dark, cramped storefront in south Minneapolis, the Washburn Center for Children is a 132-year-old nonprofit that serves children with mental illnesses, including anxiety, depression and trauma. The nonprofit relocated to its new $24.5 million building in north Minneapolis, which features 3 stories and 56,000 square feet of space that supports its therapeutic work. Constructed of glass and steel, the building is light-filled and LEED Gold Certified.
MG McGrath Architectural Glass & Glazing worked with Mortenson Construction and DLR Group to fabricate and install the building’s Aluminum framed entrances and storefronts, door hardware and glazing.
