TEXAS A&M LIBERAL ARTS AND HUMANITIES BUILDING
COLLEGE STATION, TX
Texas A&M built their LAH Building with a beautiful combination of facade materials and textures like limestone, brick, and perforated metal
PROJECT INFORMATION
Texas A&M University recently built their $46 million Liberal Arts and Humanities Building which is home to the college’s departments for English, Humanities, and Performing Arts, as well as other cultural and media-related courses. This $46 million building features 125,000 square feet of space over five stories which includes a black box theatre, recording studios, and traditional classrooms. The main façade features cut limestone and brick veneer and perforated metal accent pieces, all of which look classic, modern, and can hold up well in prolonged periods of heat and direct sunlight exposure
PROJECT SCOPE
For this project, MG McGrath fabricated and installed 6,800 square feet of custom perforated 1/8″ Firestone aluminum panels with .040” backpans. The aluminum panels were given a custom medium bronze anodized finish before being installed on both the interior and exterior of the new humanities building. HGA Architects & BRW Architects designed the building to invoke both traditional elements with modern touches to showcase this state-of-the-art building, while still having it fit in with the rest of the Texas A&M campus.
