HENNEPIN COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES CENTER | NORTH HUB

MINNEAPOLIS, MN

In redesigning the interior and exterior of the North Hub building, the goal of the project was to give it a friendly, welcoming and refreshing appearance

PROJECT INFORMATION

Wanting to bring government assistance programs closer to areas where residents live, work and attend school, Hennepin County relocated their social services in Downtown Minneapolis’ Century Plaza to six different hubs throughout the county. After extensive renovation, Hennepin County made what used to be an industrial building in North Minneapolis into a new Human Services Center location, known as the “North Hub”. Like the other 5 centers, the North Hub is located near multiple bus lines and parking spaces for quick and convenient access, employs about 160 people, and serves nearly 200 clients a day. In redesigning the interior and exterior of the building, the goal of the project was to give it a friendly, welcoming and refreshing appearance.

PROJECT SCOPE

MG McGrath installed Profile Series and Tapered Series metal panel systems to the exterior of the building, utilizing 4,660 square feet of aluminum Dri-Design panels. The panels are Purple Rain and Slate Grey in color, both with a smooth finish. A feature wall was created using the Purple Rain colored panels with their color-shift finish.
