PROJECT INFORMATION
Coachman Park is a beautiful new 19-acre park and recreation area located right along the water in downtown Clearwater, FL. The new park features a ton of family friendly amenities like a splash pad, pavilions, walkways, a lake, a marina staff building, and an outdoor music venue. This $84 million waterfront redevelopment project was designed to connect the bustling entertainment of downtown with a recreational space for fun and relaxing so that there are options for every type of guest.
PROJECT SCOPE
Our team fabricated and installed several different metal cladding systems and decorative metal pieces for the new park including at the marina staff building, restrooms, and the sculptural torchieres. The marina building and restrooms both feature decorative metal cladding systems with a custom perforated, laser cut design and white painted finish. These unique panels were used as ornamental trim to clad the entrance awnings, windows, and side doors of the new buildings. The metal “torches” were fabricated out of 316L stainless steel plate with a bead blasted finish. This type of stainless steel has a high corrosion resistance and was the perfect choice for the salty and humid climate of Florida’s gulf coast. The top of the torches features a wider, rounded upper section with a custom laser cut, perforated design that replicated the look of the native Florida mangrove trees. Our team constructed five of these torches which were placed along the walking paths in the park and illuminate at night for better visibility.
