BLOCK 9 HIGH-RISE TOWER AND PARKING RAMP
FARGO, ND
This Block 9 high-rise tower is one of the tallest buildings in North Dakota featuring 18 stories of mixed-use retail, dining, living, and office spaces
PROJECT INFORMATION
Block 9 is currently just a 48,000 square foot surface level lot, but upon the project’s completion in 2020, it will be an 18-story high-rise building – one of the tallest in North Dakota. The Block 9 property is located right in the heart of downtown Fargo which makes it a perfect location for this mixed-use building consisting of office space, retail stores, restaurants, residential condos, and a hotel. Additional plans for the block beyond this high-rise building include a half-acre community plaza, an ice skating rink, a splash pad for kids, and a stage for live music. The redevelopment of Block 9 is expected to bring dozens of jobs to the city, increase community engagement, and enhance urban cultural experiences
SURFACES PROJECT SCOPE
The MG McGrath team worked with SOM Architects on the main tower and Collaborative Design Group on the parking ramp, with McGough Construction as the general contractor for both structures. Our team fabricated and installed metal panels to the stair tower of the parking ramp, and panels for the entrance canopy, soffits, and crown of the main tower building. MG McGrath used 4mm FR Core Composite material from Reynobond and fabricated it into a custom MG McGrath D-Set panel system. 3,500 square feet of these D-Set panels were installed in an Umbra Grey finish. An additional 5,854 square feet of Pac Clad Flush Seam Aluminum panels were also installed by MG McGrath with an Anodic Clear finish
GLASS & GLAZING PROJECT SCOPE
Our Architectural Surfaces team fabricated and installed metal panels on both structures, while our Glass & Glazing team installed exterior glass
