ALTRU HOSPITAL
GRAND FORKS, ND
When designing the new hospital, the Altru Health System Facility Planning Committee envisioned a facility that not only met the immediate needs of their patients, but also left room for future care growth and development with the anticipated future care needs of the local Grand Forks community

PROJECT INFORMATION
Altru Health System recently constructed this new $475 million hospital Serving the residents of Grand Forks County and beyond. This new hospital is a replacement for their old one with advanced medical services that allow their rural residential population access to quality medical care closer to home. The new hospital features 552,000 square feet of space that houses 12 operating rooms, four specialized laboratories, newer medical technology, larger trauma spaces, expanded emergency services, and private pre-op, post-op, and NICU rooms. Grand Forks County residents now have the best in modern medicine services without having to travel long distances for them.
PROJECT SCOPE
Our team worked on both the interior and exterior of the new hospital fabricating and installing various metal systems. For the interior of the hospital, our team used Alfrex’s 4mm metal composite material (MCM) and fabricated it into over 1,700 square feet of column covers with a Bone White finish. On the exterior of the hospital, we provided and installed nearly all of the hospitals metal façade cladding. This included 8,450sqft of Metal Sales’ perforated metal panels in an Old Town Grey Finish. The majority of the exterior façade paneling is comprised of Metal Sales’ T-10D, T-10A, & T-10C corrugated metal panel profiles. These 20 gauge metal panels were installed by our team with Q-Vent’s QV1.1 exposed mechanical fastening system and matching trim. 114,000 square feet of those facade panels have a Steel Grey fluorofinish, and an additional 34,500 square feet of those façade panels have a Sandstone fluorofinish.
