The Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park has been chosen as Engineering News-Record’s Top Project for 2019 in the Southeast region for the Landscape/Urban Development category.
The underutilized 23- acre Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, which sits across the river from downtown Tampa, underwent a $35 million expansion and renovation in order to keep up with its blossoming urban surroundings. The renovation provided an open green space for guests to congregate, dine, and experience the outdoors at Tampa’s new expanded Riverwalk. The park features athletic courts, playground and splash pad areas for kids, a synthetic turf field, walking trails, dog parks, picnic shelters, an event pavilion with a huge field, and a new dock for small kayaks and canoes. The revitalized park will now be a catalyst for new growth and community engagement in West Tampa
