The MPK 21 building on Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park California has just been given the 2019 Judges Award from Metal Construction News. MG McGrath have worked with Gehry Partners and Level 10 Construction on previous Facebook projects including the MPK20 building, and the MPK22 building which is currently under construction. MPK21 is a single-floor, open office building for Facebook employees that was designed to be highly sustainable and evoke creative thinking. Formed to bring the outdoors into the office space, the project features a 3.6 acre rooftop garden, large event and meeting spaces, solar panels, over 200 trees, dining centers, and a half a mile of walking trails.
MG McGrath provided, fabricated, and installed a total of 364,168 square feet of metal products. Our surfaces team installed all of the metal wall and roof panels, soffit panels, corrugated polycarbonate panels, louvers, flashings and matching trim pieces. Even with nearly 400,000 square feet of metal to be installed, the MPK21 building was constructed in just 18 months
