UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA SIEBERT FIELD BASEBALL STADIUM

MINNEAPOLIS, MN

PROJECT INFORMATION

The University of Minnesota tore down their old baseball field and replaced it with the new Siebert Field. This $7.5 million baseball stadium has 140,000 square feet of space with seating for over 1,400 spectators. Siebert Field is the primary playing field for all U of M Gopher baseball games, but will also serve as event spacing for pregame and postgame football festivities. The state-of-the-art turf field is low maintenance and expands the use of the stadium to also be used for other university events and recreational sporting activities for the spring and fall seasons. Some key changes to the new field from the old one included a 6-foot lower grade to improve sightlines, added grandstand concessions, and a new south entrance at the University Sports Plaza to integrate fans and better accommodate softball, and track & field

PROJECT SCOPE

For the new baseball stadium, our team fabricated and installed over 400 square feet of Oldcastle Building Envelope and Kawneer 1600 curtainwall framing systems with dark bronze finishes. The curtainwall systems included Sungate 500 low-e glass that was glazed in and fully installed by our team. Additional glass and glazing work from MG McGrath includes the installation of 2 aluminum-framed glass doors, and 10 Kawneer 8225T thermal vent windows
