PROJECT INFORMATION:
Surly Brewing Company wanted to give people a place where they could see their beer being made, and then enjoy it right there in their communal taproom and full-service restaurant. So, that’s exactly what they did! After patiently awaiting the grand opening of the new $30 million, 50,000-square-foot Destination Brewery in SE Minneapolis, MSP locals continue to flood in to enjoy the space. The Surly team worked with MG McGrath to create an eclectic backdrop to the bar area with a custom perforated image on perforated coloured stainless steel.
SCOPE:
MG McGrath helped craft one of the many fascinating features of the facility – the Surly bar wall, created from coloured stainless steel. Designed by Surly Brewings’ Michael Berglund, the metal paneled wall was custom perforated to allow passage of light, and lined with LED lights at the top and bottom to illuminate it from the back and define the image that was created.
SYSTEMS:
Custom-designed and engineered panel system utilizing 16ga. coloured stainless steel with a colourtex finish of satin charcoal and a custom perforated image.
