HEARTLAND WHOLE HEALTH INSTITUTE

BENTONVILLE, AR

Our team worked to ensure we could meet the design goals of the building which heavily emphasized nature and earthy textures like weathered brass, wood, and local stone.

PROJECT INFORMATION

Founded by Alice Walton in 2019, Heartland Whole Health Institute is a non-profit that has the goal of advancing healthcare in a holistic way by treating physical, mental, emotional, and social avenues of care for sustainable wellness. Heartland Whole Health Institute works with health systems partners, employers, and communities to factor in the whole needs of the patient for long-term outcomes and prioritize overall well-being instead of just illness treatment alone.

Nestled on the 120-acre Crystal Bridges campus, HWHI now has a permanent home in Bentonville, Arkansas. This 85,000 square foot facility is 3-stories tall with offices, a café, administrative areas, and event spaces for community gatherings and educational programs. Inspired by the natural landscape of the Ozarks, Whole Health’s new building was designed to perfectly meld nature, wellness, and a redefined approach to broader medical care.

PROJECT SCOPE

MG McGrath worked on this building’ interior and exterior, fabricating and installing most of the various metal facade and cladding systems. The roof features over 14,000 square feet of Pac Clad’s Snap-Clad standing seam roofing panel system. We also fabricated and installed 11,000 sqft of our own H-Seam (Hook-Seam) aluminum metal paneling on the roof of this project. The most eye-catching work we did on this project, though, was the installation of all of our custom-finished muntz brass. The main sweeping glass façade of the Whole Health Institute is elevated with the addition of 183 brass fins fabricated with our own custom finish that was made specifically, and exclusively for this project.15,700 square feet of concealed fastener brass cladding panels were also installed on the exterior walls, entrances, and walkway ceilings in the same matching finish as the brass fins. The last little bit of brass work our team completed for this project was the addition of gorgeous interior brass trim pieces at the staircases. In total, our team fabricated, custom-finished, and installed around 100,000sqft of custom muntz brass for the Heartland Whole Health Institute.
