DEVON ENERGY CENTER
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK
Devon Energy’s world headquarter location features 2 million square feet of space inside a 50-story tower downtown Oklahoma City
PROJECT INFORMATION
Devon Energy is an independent oil and natural gas company with its corporate headquarters operating out of this 50-story steel and glass building downtown Oklahoma City. The 2 million square foot tower was designed by architecture group Pickard Chilton to mitigate solar heat gain without obstructing city landscape views. The building was able to achieve a LEED Gold certification even though an energy-efficient glass façade is very difficult to engineer and carry-out. Devon Energy wanted this tower to enhance the city and its ground level is open to public visitors. The tower serves mainly as office space, but also includes a training center, an auditorium, a full-service restaurant, and a café. A year after the tower’s opening, downtown population has increased by 24% giving way for a redevelopment of the area around Devon Tower including new streets, parks, a greenhouse, and a revival of the Myriad Botanical Garden
PROJECT SCOPE
MG McGrath clad the exterior of the tower with 20,000 square feet of double embossed stainless steel panels. These Firestone 4000 series panels featured Linen and Diamond Embossed 14ga stainless-steel material with a Mill colored finish. Also fabricated and installed by MG McGrath were Firestone 4500 series aluminum plate panels with a Duranar finish in Sunstorm Arcadia Silver. 29,000 square feet of these panels were installed at the interior crown of the tower, while another 36,000 square feet of the same panels were installed on the exterior
