DELAWARE ART MUSEUM

WILMINGTON, DE

The museum has undergone numerous renovations and additions with this latest one expanding exhibit spaces and modernizing the look of the building

PROJECT INFORMATION:

In 2005, the Museum reopened with extensive renovations to the original 1938 building and three new Museum wings, offering new facilities for the permanent collection and special exhibitions, arts education programs, a cafe, a museum store, offices, meeting areas, and an outdoor sculpture garden. Total facilities now include over 80,000 square feet of space that house over 12,000 permanent art objects. This is Delaware’s largest art museum which sits on 11 acres of property and specializes in British Pre-Raphaelites, Illustration, American & Contemporary Art

PROJECT SCOPE:

For the museum’s new additions and renovations, MG McGrath fabricated 20 oz copper into our own R-Seam style panel system. The copper panels were then installed on the exterior of the museum to pair beautifully with the buildings stone trim details, and outdoor sculpture garden. All of the copper paneling on this project features our own custom Zion copper finish.
