Part 2 of our Project Profile, this video showcases our team’s work on “The Horn” Monument at Medtronic Plaza, outside of the U.S. Bank Stadium. Funded by Medtronic as a part of the company’s community sponsorship at the U.S. Bank Stadium and ten-year partnership with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, the monument was designed by Alliiance Architects to resemble the Vikings’ famous Gjallarhorn. The steel intertwined ribbons, meant to represent the community’s spirit of partnership and progress, were hand-crafted in pieces by our team and then shipped to the stadium in 16 separate pieces – weighing a total of 38 tons. Each piece was lifted into place with cranes and then welded together, standing 25 feet high and 107 feet long. Scheduled for completion just in time for the Vikings’ first preseason game on August 28th, it will have lights, paint, and a mirrored finish that will allow visitors to see their reflections.
