Project overview
The world famous and world’s only Corn Palace underwent a major renovation, making Mitchell, South Dakota’s biggest tourist attraction an even better experience than before. Built in 1892 to showcase South Dakota’s healthy agricultural climate, the multi-purpose facility located on Mitchell’s Main Street is made entirely of corn, grains and local grasses, with artistic mosaic murals surrounding the exterior to reflect a new theme each year. In addition to the building’s annual redecorating, the Corn Palace’s new developments include larger exterior murals, a new sign, new custom-designed light-up domes, new wind turbines, and a walk-out balcony. On the interior, the new design features a new grand entry, lobby, and box office
