Flashing, Headers, Soffits, & Project Trim Finishes
While not high-profile, project finish components are essential elements to a successful project. These designed components are fundamental in preventing water infiltration, wind, and debris from entering the building or harming the exterior barrier to the building.
Slab-Edge Panels
Architectural slab-edge panels are specialized façade components designed to conceal structural concrete floor slabs, fire safety materials and mechanical equipment in commercial multi-story buildings. Also known as “spandrel panels”, these elements create a seamless, continuous aesthetic while managing crucial building features.
Shadow Boxes
Curtain wall shadow boxes are architectural features used in spandrel areas to conceal floor slabs as well as fireproofing and wiring while maintaining a uniform, all glass aesthetics. These shadow boxes create the illusion of depth by placing a dark metal back pan several inches behind the exterior curtain wall glass. For more information on Back Pans, see McGrath Unitized Glass Curtain Wall Systems section.
Architectural Signage, Brand, & Custom Logos
Architectural signage meets requirements for wayfinding, visual identity, reinforces brand presence while seamlessly blending these features with a building design and finishes. When these systems are under the McGrath scope, there are collaborative meetings with the architects on features, scale, and finishes for both interior and exterior applications. Most frequently these systems utilize McGrath metal craft, specialty metals and McGrath custom patinas.
