Metal Construction News: 2012 Building and Roofing Awards: NABRICO: The Bridge Building Wins Best Metal Walls Retrofit
MG McGrath Scope of Work:
MG McGrath provided and installed the metal panel systems for exterior elements for the renovated historic building on the East bank of the Cumberland River.
The ST1, 2, and 3 panel systems were fabricated from weathering steel that we provided a rusted patina finish with a clear coat protective finish in our shop prior to installation.
ST-1 panels are 16 gauge weathering steel panels to create the “barge structure” with an elliptical curve shape at the top to simulate the hull of a barge.
ST-2 panels are 11 gauge weathering steel perforated panels. Panels are installed over some of the ST-1 panels and for cladding at 2 stair towers.
ST-3 panels are 16 gauge cladding to replicate rusted structural steel beams and columns with storefront windows within the openings.
ST-4 panels are anodized aluminum perforated panels. Panels are installed at the top and bottom of the elevator at the walk bridge.
