The scope of work includes new energy-efficient lighting, reconstructed mall entrances, new ceramic tile and carpeting, a new sound system, renovated restrooms, a nursing room for mothers, a new family bathroom and soft seating for shoppers in need of a break, said Jennifer Lewis, the mall’s general manager.
Much of the 911,879-square-foot mall was repainted in neutral tones, and old columns, some previously painted or covered in mirrors, were restored to their original brick. The mall’s famous carousel also was restored. – Twincities.com
The biggest changes are in the center court, where designers opted to open up the blacked-out windows that line the space’s ceiling. They also added 27 cube-shaped custom lights that can change color for special events. – Twincities.com
