MG McGrath is honored to have been a part of the project team on the following 3 of the 5 projects that were featured by Construction Dive as the most noteworthy projects, nation-wide, of 2016.
- US Bank Stadium (Minneapolis, MN): The US Bank Stadium, new home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, was completed in July of 2016 as the largest construction project in Minnesota history. Featuring 1.75 million square feet, the $1.1 billion stadium was completed weeks ahead of schedule.
MG McGrath’s Architectural Surfaces and Architectural Glass & Glazing teams were both a part of the project team in the construction of the multi-purpose facility. On the exterior, our Architectural Surfaces team team installed approximately 420,000 square feet of VM Zinc interlocking metal panels. Nearly all of the building’s surfaces are warped. The entire construction process was based off of a digital model, and each subpanel had a specific layout and design that was procured off-site in a Minneapolis warehouse. Custom finished metal was fabricated and installed throughout the facility, including the concourses, suites, locker room, concession stands and bars. Our Architectural Glass & Glazing team furnished and installed the stadium’s indoor curtain wall, storefront, glass wall, draft curtain, and folding glass wall.
- MGM National Harbor Casino Complex (Oxon Hill, MD): The $1.4 billion, 24-story casino complex was completed just weeks ago and is expected to result in a boon for local development. MG McGrath Architectural Surfaces worked with the project team on the exterior of the MGM National Harbor Casino-Resort, installing 140,502-square-feet of metal composite wall paneling with a custom Kuala White finish.
- T3 Office Building (Minneapolis, MN): “The seven-story, 220,000-square-foot T3 (Timber, Technology, Transit) office building in Minneapolis opened in November, marking the largest contemporary mass timber building in the U.S. The building’s designer, Michael Green Architecture, used engineered wood for the interior and exterior of the structure and concrete for the foundation. The timber building is part of a growing trend across the globe to incorporate wood into high-rise construction.” (Construction Dive) MG McGrath Architectural Surfaces furnished and installed 44,585 square feet of 20 gauge pre-weathered steel and 1,000 square feet of .080” aluminum with a two-coat finish for the office building’s exterior façade. Blackened steel was fabricated and installed throughout the interior of the building, including custom booths, a custom feature booth, and a custom feature wall with “T3” perforation.
